Facebook is seeking an Automation Engineering Intern to join our Automation Engineering team. Our data centers (OCP), connectivity labs, and mobile programs are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and how Facebook connects the world. The Automation Engineering Intern will work closely with our Hardware Design, Release to Production, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Quality teams to design automation, analyze data, and enable Facebook's products to scale.
Automation Engineer, Intern Responsibilities
  • Design distributed software systems and platforms to validate the quality and performance of hardware deployed in Facebook's data centers and labs
  • Provision, image, and perform system administration on test infrastructure equipment and devices under test
  • Analyze infra health data and test methodologies
  • Develop and publish analytics dashboards and communicate findings to team members
  • Drive partnerships to build, test, and deliver quality hardware
  • Document findings and standardize new methods and processes
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • Experience working in the Linux operating environment or similar
  • Object oriented programming experience in languages such as Python, C++, or Java
  • Experience in data analysis and statistical analysis tools such as R, Mathematica, or Matlab
  • Experience with troubleshooting and analysis
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
