We are looking for a Data Science Director who is passionate about analytics for large scale systems to help drive data-informed decisions for the Ads Online Infrastructure team. You will be working at the forefront of the industry, building solutions for one of the largest communities of businesses in the world. You will be focused on results, be proactive, deliver rigorous analyses, and use data to drive change in products and organizations. The Ads Online Infrastructure team builds and operates the large scale monetization infrastructure for our ads business and this role is central to our ads business work, our ads revenue and for the over 2.7 Billion people on Facebook each month. Key priorities of this org include improving reliability/efficiency of the services, developing new capabilities for ads ML/product engineers and adopting ads data systems to meet privacy and signal loss requirements. The data science director will manage 15+ people, across multiple offices, and will partner with a engineering director, with direct influence on a team greater than 250 people. We are looking for a DS director who can work closely with Engineering leads in the distributed infrastructure space, has previous experience managing ICs and managers, and has strong technical/statistical background.
Data Science Director, Ads Online Infrastructure Responsibilities
  • Partner with Engineering, and cross-functional teams to to inform, influence, support, and execute strategy and investment decisions for the Ads monetization online system.
  • Inspire, lead and grow a team of data scientists.
  • Apply your statistical and analytical expertise to drive informed decisions about growing and improving Ads monetization online system.
  • Inspire, lead and grow 15+ data scientists (including managers) across multiple teams.
  • Be proactive with asking questions, ensuring that the right questions are being answered with appropriate level of rigor and that analyses lead to clear and actionable recommendations and impactful product changes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years experience managing a team of analysts, data scientist.
  • 8+ years of work experience managing analytics teams, working collaboratively with Engineering and cross-functional partners, and guiding data-influenced product planning, prioritization and strategy development.
  • Experience in cross-functional partnership among teams of Engineering, Design, PM, Data Engineering.
