When we think about what the future of work might look like—particularly as we continue to navigate a pandemic—one important consideration is giving people a range of options and the flexibility to make choices that work best for them. At Meta, our mission is to help people build community and bring the world closer together. The best way to pursue this mission is to ensure everyone at our company can do the best work of their career—no matter where they work.
In Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), we’re empowering people to choose what works best for them and their teams. We’ve created a culture based on collaboration, enabled by the technology we build that connects people around the world. Our products allow any company to build community and seamlessly connect people who work remotely with their colleagues—whether they also work remotely or in offices.

We’re investing in onboarding, performance, manager support, and product development—with the intent of making sure employees can do the best work of their career, no matter where they’re located."
There has never been a more exciting time to join Meta in EMEA. Working with others, we’re developing what is often referred to as the metaverse—a new phase of interconnected virtual experiences using technologies like virtual and augmented reality. And our teams across Europe are already researching new cutting-edge technologies—from our first major European AI research lab and FAIR accelerator programme in France to our Reality Labs office in Ireland.

Remote and flexible options

In 2020, we shared that we would be offering options for eligible roles to be full time remote, meaning people in those roles will not be required to go into an office. Today, anyone whose role can be done remotely can request remote work. Meta’s offices will be more flexible for those expected to return—guidance for employees is to spend at least half their time in the office. We will continue to iterate and evolve over time as we learn what works best for individuals, teams, and the company.

Relocation and working remotely from another country

We are hiring for a mix of remote and in-office roles, but we realize that sometimes the most talented people for a team may not live in the same country where a role is currently located. We will continue to offer the opportunity to relocate to one of eight countries within the EMEA region where Meta employees may work remotely, in addition to continuing to offer relocation to our offices across EMEA, as well.

Products that power collaboration

We know that good work can get done anywhere, but this is only possible with the right tools. Our organization communication tool Workplace is already used by many of the world’s largest companies and Portal has become an important device for distributed teams to connect with others. Teams have also found new ways to collaborate when they can’t be together in person using Workrooms, or even via virtual reality (VR) using Quest 2 headsets.
With multiple options for work choices, we’re focused on the long-term, building the future of work together with the people who work at Meta to create even stronger teams that will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible with technology.
Where community and possibility collide, innovation thrives. Learn more about remote work at Meta here or view open roles here.
