Associate General Counsel, Reality Labs
Meta seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player to serve as Associate General Counsel on the Reality Labs legal team. You will focus on providing strategic legal counseling to internal product, operations, and business teams in order to identify and mitigate global legal risk, primarily in connection with Reality Labs' privacy, security, and integrity products and regulatory readiness.
Associate General Counsel, Reality Labs Responsibilities
  • Analyze products, policies and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions, including evaluating the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions.
  • Lead legal support and coordination for regulatory readiness efforts for Reality Labs.
  • Provide product, engineering, policy, and other business teams with legal advice relating to product development, data protection laws and regulations, and international legal frameworks.
  • Work cross functionally with attorneys from other legal teams such as privacy, regulatory, commercial, and litigation, and Reality Labs legal.
  • Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other departments.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on legal developments related to privacy, security, and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
  • 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm or in-house experience (applicable litigation, regulatory, privacy, or product counseling experience)
  • Experience working on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with consumer-facing software products
  • Experience in product counseling and data protection and privacy laws (including biometrics laws) and related international frameworks
  • In-house experience with applicable litigation, regulatory, or product counseling
  • Business judgment and client counseling experience
  • Experience advancing projects in a multi-stakeholder environment

$198,000/year to $266,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
