As a software engineering manager of the computer graphics simulation team in Facebook Reality Labs (FRL), you will help build frameworks and generate synthetic data which are used for developing, training and validating state-of-the-art computer vision and deep learning that empower FRL core algorithms. The role is ideal for someone passionate about AR/VR, computer graphic and AI machine perception.
Manager Engineering, Synthetic Data (FRL) Responsibilities
  • Drive technology development from architecture to deep algorithmic solutions for problems in computer vision and graphics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and research teams in computer vision, machine learning, graphics and art
  • Establish a solid project framework and excellent development processes
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers
  • Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with global hardware and software engineering teams. Operate strategically and tactically
  • Work on strategy and help set direction while delivering state-of-the-art computer generated graphics algorithms
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in leading teams productizing machine perception technologies (i.e., computer vision, deep learning, sensors and robotics) / graphics experience
  • BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience supporting an engineering and research organization through technical leadership
  • Experience in recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or PhD in Computer Vision, Computer Graphics or AI/Machine Learning
  • Experience shipping computer vision or AL/Machine Learning technology into hardware products
  • Experience with any of the following: implementing advanced 3D graphics (features such as lighting, effects, shaders and other low-level system), image processing or computer vision techniques, finite element modeling and analysis, differentiable rendering, machine learning, numerical optimization, visual effects (VFX), 3D rendering, 3D reconstruction, motion capture or mobile GPU programming
  • Experience with any of the following: garment modelling (and simulation), VR / AR / MR, biomechanical modelling or custom physics simulations
  • Experience with tools such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, Houdini, and Blender
