We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our team, whose mission is to create ground-breaking advancements for Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual reality (VR), and Smart Glasses. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience working on early stage development of hardware plus software solutions. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting-edge technology, resources, and testing facilities. We look for technical program managers who have a strong technical foundation and are natural motivators, cross-functional relationship builders, and champions for driving the right level of process to ensure smooth and predictable program execution in a fast-paced innovative environment.
Technical Program Manager – Reality Labs Research Responsibilities
  • Manage the design, development, and delivery of prototype systems that include deliverables focused on electrical engineering, embedded and system software development, and mechanical design.
  • Work with a cross-functional team of researchers, hardware and software engineers, TPMs and product management to set clear deliverables and milestones to deliver next generation solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the research teams, product teams, suppliers and vendors, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Effectively communicate program goals and status to key cross-functional stakeholders and leadership. Organize and balance a portfolio of work within resource and time constraints.
  • Team operations including budget, lab management, purchasing and vendor management.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years experience in the design and development of consumer, industrial, or research electronics or software systems.
  • 2+ years of program management experience.
  • Interest for being a great communicator. Versatility in corresponding, presenting, and facilitating to all levels of the organization technical and non-technical content.
  • Project management, leadership, dependency management, and cross-group collaboration experience across more than one geographic location.
  • Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of researchers, software, firmware and hardware engineers.
  • Early prototyping experience on new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong technical understanding of systems design.
  • Project experience using FPGAs and Emulators for prototyping and validation
  • Experience in the following areas is desirable: imaging systems for camera sensors, eye tracking systems, or the design and development of silicon for mobile systems.
  • Experience with maturing technology from a research team to product or building v1 products.
  • Project Management certification or training: PMP, Agile, or equivalent.

$134,000/year to $196,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
