We’re seeking a highly motivated team player to manage and develop our regional plans for the WhatsApp Business API. The candidate will be focused on business products, strategically creating and implementing country, channel, and partner specific business plans, negotiating commercial terms and promotions, monitoring competitor activity and market trends, supporting the cross functional teams in delivering growth for the WhatsApp business products. You will play a key role in defining and driving impactful partnerships and building programs and infrastructure to support WhatsApp's business products in-region. The candidate will possess superior analytical skills and the ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management. The candidate will thrive in a team-oriented environment, working cross-functionally with the Product, Business Development, Marketing, Operations and Engineering teams to develop new ways to support and improve the WhatsApp Business products. This is a full-time position based in our Mexico office.
Strategic Partner Manager, WhatsApp Business Partnerships Responsibilities
  • Develop the partner ecosystem in the region to support scaling of the WhatsApp Business API.
  • Responsible for creating strategic relationships that will lead to successful business models for our partners and WhatsApp business products in-region.
  • Set targets and goals within Business Solution Providers aligned to regional expectations and ensure delivery against plans.
  • Responsible for managing pipeline information and local client relationships to identify potential new business leads, growth opportunities or future competitive trends.
  • Maintain account plans and build close working relationships with key stakeholders in the marketplace.
  • Present to and consult with management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Provide an objective commercial viewpoint based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of commercial and competitive information.
  • Work in a fast-paced and iterative environment with leaders across Engineering, Product, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Policy and Partner management teams.
  • Develop and execute the partnership strategies and programs to enable the support of WhatsApp business products and business strategy in-region.
  • Work with product and engineering teams to identify product gaps that can be addressed through partnerships.
  • Proactively identify and analyze complex, long-term, critical infrastructure problems with cross functional leaders and stakeholders.
  • Support ideation, partnership development, and launch of innovative business products and services.
  • Present to and consult with management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Along with cross functional teams, create, maintain and influence relationships with key ecosystem players in the region to help establish a narrative of WhatsApp business products.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Business or management related field (In lieu of degree, 10+ years of relevant work experience).
  • Experience delivering partnerships from inception to delivery.
  • Proven experience creating, negotiating and closing complex deals.
  • Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope.
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
  • Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.
  • Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
  • Experience getting things done at short notice while collecting information from a variety of internal and external sources.
  • Advanced English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in cPaaS, SaaS or enterprise software environments.
  • Experience in building or managing partnerships and programs around messaging systems in a large-scale environment.
  • Product Management experience.
  • Sales and Channel management experience.
