Meta is looking for a Content Regulation Policy Manager with experience analyzing legislation, as well as policy and regulatory trends; developing legislative strategy; drafting policy papers; and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, including product, operations and legal teams to join our global Content Regulation Policy team. The team's mission is to help develop the company’s approach to content regulation. As part of our commitment to our community we have called for new regulatory frameworks for online content—frameworks that ensure companies are making decisions about online content in a way that minimizes harm but also respects the fundamental right to free expression. Candidates should have APAC regional expertise in content and media regulatory issues and/or law, experience working on platform policy issues (including intermediary liability and other communications and media policy issues), and strong knowledge of digital economy and internet policy issues. They should also have excellent communication, both verbally and written, and analytical skills. This role is full-time and based in Singapore.
Content Regulation Policy Manager (APAC) Responsibilities
  • Develop and draft policy positions, policy analyses and briefings on content regulation, including on emerging regulatory frameworks
  • Draft submissions and responses to public consultations and inquiries
  • Identify, monitor, and analyze content policy issues at the regional and international levels
  • Educate and provide guidance on the company’s policy positions on content regulation to business, product, policy, ops, comms and other teams across the company
  • Advise Meta business, product and other teams on content regulatory matters to guide development of products and services
  • Project manage / coordinate a range of cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Represent the team in cross-functional internal stakeholder meetings
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of tech policy experience, preferably in content or media governance or trust and safety
  • A critical understanding of the content regulatory landscape in APAC countries, particularly Australia, India, and Singapore
  • Experience drafting policy analyses, position papers, consultation submissions, reports, and leadership briefings
  • Experience with national or international policy frameworks for addressing online content and safety
  • Experience in analyzing or shaping policies in the area of internet governance or content moderation
  • Experience planning and executing cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience managing a wide range of internal stakeholders
  • Experience in or working with the technology industry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in public policy, government, law, business, corporate social responsibility, or a related field
  • Experience with international policymaking institutions and organizations (ASEAN, G7, EU, etc.)
