Our Global Response Team is seeking an experienced and agile Program Manager to work across functions, including with members of our leadership team, on our highest priority issues across Meta. The Global Response team at Meta is responsible for ensuring that our platforms are prepared to support people during periods of escalated tension anywhere in the world, such as during international elections, violent conflict or civil unrest. The Global Response Program Manager for LATAM will be responsible for coordinating company-wide responses to critical events across the region, including elections and periods of heightened tensions, as well as developing strategies to mitigate offline harm in anticipation of high risk events.
Global Response Program Manager, LATAM Responsibilities
  • Work across global, regional and functional teams to identify risks affecting Meta’s users in situations of escalated tension in LATAM, and drive solutions to mitigate these risks.
  • Develop, coordinate and execute plans to reduce risks in a systematic and effective way in the context of elections and societal violence in LATAM countries.
  • Align systems and processes to ensure an efficient, effective, and cohesive response from the company during sensitive periods of time.
  • Absorb a significant amount of information from a variety of inputs to help frame and communicate product, policy, and process requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings, align decision-makers, and escalate issues to leadership.
  • Collaborate with other colleagues on the Global Response team to develop strategic long term roadmaps to mitigate risks globally.
  • Some international travel and meetings outside standard business hours will be required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience working across diverse teams and ability to demonstrate strong diplomacy skills.
  • Understanding of geopolitical issues across LATAM and the intersection of these issues with Meta priorities.
  • Experience identifying reputational, safety and security risks, and an ability to explain how they would affect Meta at interview.
  • Experience in tackling highly complex, technical and time sensitive problems.
  • Experience developing multiple courses of action to mitigate risk, taking into account urgency, dependencies, resource constraints and second order effects.
  • Experience working effectively and swiftly with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
  • Experience driving and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working in a cross functional environment and consensus building.
  • Experience facilitating & driving decisions in ambiguous situations under time pressure.
  • Fluency in at least Portuguese is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Candidates should be highly organized, impact-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced and globally distributed work environment.
