Hardware Validation is focused on end-to-end product validation from new product introduction, new technology introduction, factory readiness, product launch and post-launch testing. As such this role will require working closely with a wide range of cross functional partners. Some of those partners include the electrical hardware team, the mechanical engineering teams, the broader core technology teams covering display engine, sensors, camera, audio, RF, reliability, as well as embedded firmware. This role will require driving unification of key validation metrics across those teams as well as developing testing and validation plans to quantify those metrics. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in display, the candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of system and display engines used in meta validation methods, and will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive validation strategies.
Hardware Validation Engineer Responsibilities
  • Validation Strategy: Co-work with US validation team to develop and lead the implementation of comprehensive validation strategies for product system and display engine technologies, including defining test plans, methodologies, and success criteria.
  • Testing Leadership: As APAC validation DRI, lead CM validation engineers and technicians in the execution of validation tests, including functional, performance, and reliability testing.
  • Test Plan Development: Create detailed test plans that cover all aspects of system and display engine functionality, ensuring alignment with product specifications and industry standards.
  • Data and Failure Analysis: Analyze test results, identify issues, and work closely with cross-functional teams, support fixing critical validation issues.
  • Documentation: Monitor CM’s validation reports and output, maintain comprehensive records of validation processes, results, and any necessary changes to the system design and display engine technology. - Collaboration: Collaborate with US validation team and cross-functional teams, to build the most efficient working model and to provide feedback and drive product quality.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS in related engineering field, or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of electrical design or validation experience
  • Extensive experience in display engine design, validation or quality assurance, has strong optical technology background
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Direct experience in R&D and shipping consumer electronic hardware
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Familiarity with scripting languages for automation and data collection
  • Familiarity with product validation process for consumer electronics
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS/PhD in related engineering field
  • Familiar with display technologies, such as LCOS, Waveguide, Eyepiece, LCDs
  • Understanding of optical principles and leading validation of display engine to inform product decisions on hardware and software features
  • Experience in test fixture design is highly desired
  • Experience with coexistence test matrix and stress rack testing is a plus
  • Proven knowledge of test equipment and infrastructure
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks
