Meta is looking for an analytical thinker with experience in policy, government, business operations, or consulting to join our Actor & Behavioral Policy team. The team’s mission is to create and communicate rules for our products that empower expression and foster a safe environment for people across our platforms. As an Associate Policy Manager, you will work closely with teams across Meta, including Product, Global Operations, Legal, Communications, and Public Policy. You will play a key role in developing, applying, and communicating our Community Standards both internally and externally and manage high-profile policy escalations. At times, you will be expected to make difficult decisions, under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, execution-minded professional who can think strategically, adapt quickly, and rapidly earn credibility and trust across all levels of the organization. They will be able to critically analyze and communicate the costs and benefits of refinements to policies and their implementation. They should be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve. Given the demands of content-related escalations, the candidate will sometimes be expected to work irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, or weekends.
Associate Policy Manager, Actor & Behavioral Policy Responsibilities
  • Help craft and implement actor-level and behavioral policies that take into consideration the needs of a global community.
  • Collaborate with Policy, Product, Operations, Communications and External Stakeholders to drive policy improvements.
  • Articulate policy philosophy and changes to relevant parties, including management, operations, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing policies and develop scalable solutions.
  • Build relationships with and understand the perspectives of partners on internal teams, such as Public Policy, Communications, Operations, Product, and Legal.
  • Join the centralized Policy on-call roster to help field policy questions on high priority escalations, with an expectation to think critically about complex problems and exercise excellent judgment under time pressure.
  • This role may involve exposure to potentially graphic and / or objectionable content including but not limited to graphic images, videos, audio, and writings, offensive or derogatory language, self-injury, animal abuse, and other content which may be considered offensive or disturbing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years experience in project management, policy development, government, or operations
  • Demonstrated analytical-thinking and problem-solving experience
  • Experience building consensus and communicating across functions
  • Effective communication
  • Experience to work with potentially graphic and objectionable content
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Meta products and principles
  • Experience in or with the technology industry

$89,000/year to $140,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
