Public Affairs Manager, Youth & Well-Being Responsibilities
  • Become part of the Public Affairs team focused on the safety, privacy, and well-being of teens across Meta technologies.
  • Understand the legislative agenda around youth well-being globally, new research, and usage of our own products to inform and prepare communications approaches for new product and policy improvements for minors, including on Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and VR/AR (the metaverse).
  • Play a central advisory role on several evolving areas in the youth space, such as age verification, harmful content restriction for minors, default protections, parental supervision and consent, time spent tools, and the collection and processing of minors’ data.
  • Manage press around youth well-being and safety and train executives, such as the Global Head of Safety, to speak on challenging and business-critical issues.
  • Beyond youth safety, support products and policy areas for all Meta users including preventing the spread of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online, preventing human trafficking, and in how we treat certain types of content on our platforms such as suicide and self-injury, bullying and harassment, and eating disorders.
  • Telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. permitted.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in English Language & Literature, Communications, Public Relations, or related field and five years of experience in job offered or in a communications or public relations-related occupation.
  • Requires five years of work experience in the following:
  • 1. Working with senior executives and experts
  • 2. Managing media relations with press
  • 3. Understanding the global media landscape
  • 4. Cross-functional work with international teams (policy and legal teams, marketing, product, or other professional functions)
  • 5. Developing company messaging and public facing materials
  • 6. Working with international communications agencies.

$296,329/year to $332,090/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
