Associate General Counsel, AI Product
Meta seeks a highly motivated technology enthusiast to serve as Product Counsel for our AI organization. This role will advise the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning teams on legal and regulatory issues, which will require application of complex and evolving legal frameworks to a new and innovative space. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment, as we build and scale our global community. This is a full-time position.
Associate General Counsel, AI Product Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary legal partner for several AI product and policy teams working on proposed AI and ML initiatives, including research and publications, to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions
  • Coordinate with public policy, communications, product management, engineering, product marketing, trust and safety, and other cross-functional teams on external communications, policy development, and product development and launches
  • Lead consensus building across legal partners and coordinate legal advice across complex and multifaceted legal issues such as data protection and privacy, IP, intermediary liability, consumer protection, security, e-commerce, payments, integrity and other global legal frameworks
  • Review global products, features, platforms and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions
Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
  • 10+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience with internet or technology companies
  • Experience with product or regulatory counseling related to areas of law such as consumer protection, privacy, data security, and intellectual property law
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on AI-powered products
  • Experience working proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience collaborating in a multi-stakeholder environment, navigating complex issues, and driving high-impact projects
  • Prior in-house experience at a technology company working
  • Understanding of AI and Machine Learning technologies

$226,000/year to $304,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. In addition to base salary, Meta offers benefits.
